Neil DeGrasse Tyson, the world’s most popular astrophysicist, was asked by TIME magazine, “What is the most astounding fact you can share with us about the Universe?” Here is his moving response.
The atoms that comprise life on Earth, including are own bodies are traceable to stars. High mass stars became unstable and exploded, scattering fundamental materials across the universe – like carbon, nitrogen, and oxygen – and creating solar systems. Eventually, life is formed out of these basic ingredients. Thus, the universe is in us, and we are connected to it.
