See incredible images from the NASA-ESA Hubble Space Telescope as it takes an upgraded look at the Pillars of Creation.
Recent updates to the Hubble allow two breathtaking images to be taken in visible light and infrared in unprecedented clarity. The first image highlights changes to the Eagle Nebula over time. The infrared image gives a view of the inner workings of the Pillars of Creation. These new views, made possible by 2009 updates to the telescope, allow scientists studying the nebula to better understand how it, and the young stars within it, are evolving and forming.
