Though stain removers and detergents do most of the hard work, some stains, like wine or blood, are still harder to get rid of than others. Here are some handy tips for getting rid of the toughest stains.
What it all comes down to is whether or not the stain should be soaked in warm or cool water. For beverage stains, soak them in cool water and rub in some stain remover before tossing the garment into the laundry. Chocolate bar stains should be pre-treated in warm water with a product that has enzymes, such as a spray bottle stain remover. Even yellow pit stains can be removed with the help of some white vinegar. As for blood stains, cold water is the best pre-treatment out there. And if the stain is already dried, spray on some enzymes before washing.
